Our Love of Things.
We love our things. We have favorite pens, hats, blankets, trinkets, and so on. But why do we hold these things dear to ourselves? Because of the memories that we carry with them. But with wonderful memories comes the sad tool of time. Which slowly fades these memories away leaving us with vague ideas and emotions that slowly lose their meaning and value.
But what is one thing that we love forever and always?
Our Jeans.
We love our favorite jeans because of how they fit. How they make us look. What happened when we were wearing them.
So this gave David Hieatt a great idea. Why not mix a great pair of jeans and the vast possibilities that the internet can offer us.
And he did.
Giving us Hiut Denim. A wonderfully crafted jean co. They only make denim jeans. And that's all that they will ever make.
They import their denim from two locations. Their organic denim comes from a mill in Turkey and the other type of denim that they use is called Selvedge and it is from Kuroki, Japan. It is dyed with natural Indigo to achieve it's deep dark natural color.
Looking through the jeans is very simple and I LOVE the lay out. When you're on the "shop" page you decide on which of the two types of denim you would like, and once you've decided you then decide if you would prefer Regular or Slim. These jeans are manufactured androgynously. They are sized according to your waist and the inseam of your leg.
Regular Selvedge Denim
Slim Selvedge Denim
Organic Regular Denim
Organic Slim Denim
These jeans are beautifully crafted and with each pair of jeans you purchase they not only support a wonderful business and the people of an English town, but also the people who are in Turkey and Japan making this denim traditionally and organically.
Also, each pair comes with it's own code which you can type onto their website and start documenting the history of your pants. If you get rid of them make sure the new owner has the number and continues updating on what's happening with those jeans. It could make for a very interesting and beautiful story.
(I'm thinking it might end up being the fashion version of the movie War Horse...)
Well that's it for tonight!
And Remember The 2nd Amendment! You're right to bear great style! Even in places where there is none.
